Four wings around a tree that was never going to be cut.

A sixty-year-old raintree stands at the centre of Atrium House, and every room negotiates with it. The house breathes through the atrium — hot air rises out, dappled light falls in, and the marble floor records the tree's shadow like a sundial.
The client asked for a landmark. We gave them a frame. The tree was here before us and will outlast the furniture — designing around that humility produced the boldest house we've made.
